Melissa DiMercurio - Account Executive
Melissa DiMercurio received her BA in Public Relations and Fine Arts from Hofstra University in May 2011. While there, she spent time building relationships with well-established mentors in her field and gained knowledge of the PR field.
While at Hofstra, Melissa interned at Krupp Kommunications, a public relations agency based in New York City, where she got her first glimpse of agency life and assisted on several book and entertainment accounts. Melissa also worked for University Relations at Hofstra, where she acted as backstage coordinator at the “Live at 75 Concert” in the fall of 2010, directed a campus publication photo shoot, and assisted at an event in which Governor Cuomo gave a speech in spring 2011.
In her last public relations class at Hofstra, Melissa was chosen by her peers to be the director of their final project in which they coordinated an awareness campaign for a not-for-profit organization, Operation Home Front NY/NJ Chapter, which services military families in need. Her team raised over $500 in a restaurant fundraiser and they were also featured in LINews.com and the Long Island Report.
An avowed Twitter fan, Melissa is interested in social media, as well as a trained dancer, and a drawing and architecture lover, having studied both in Venice, Italy. Her artistic and creative qualities fuel her life and career paths.
It was a dream of Melissa’s to attend college at Hofstra and eventually work in New York City. Melissa is proud to be a part of the Burke & Company team and is eager to get her career started in the world of public relations.
